When it comes to the art of modifying a truck to make it fast, it really seems like something that’s becoming more and more popular these days. People are taking some of the components that you’d find inside of all sorts of trucks that are kind of a hidden gem in the rough, stretching them out to their maximum potential and sometimes throwing in aftermarket parts to make the equation even sweeter. As of maybe as soon as a couple of years ago, it really seemed like the truck market was one that was relatively untapped, at least when it comes to the topic of high-performance gas trucks.
While most of the time, the performance trucks that you’ll see being talked about may be diesel powered, there is also quite a performance landscape that backs up gasoline powered trucks. I may be a little bit biased here, but personally I would say that there is quite an amazing amount of potential to go after if you consider all that the Chevrolet Silverado has the offer straight out of the box with its LSx lineage. Lots of guys are slapping turbos on these things and making them incredible machines, to say the least. It’s a lot of fun to watch all the different twists and turns that these owners go through in order to make their very own rendition of a fast truck and this time, we check out one of the best to do it on the all-wheel-drive platform.
If you follow along down in the video below, you’ll check out a machine that has made its way to become the fastest all-wheel-drive LSx powered pickup truck to ever make its way down the quarter mile, batting home an incredible pass as it manages to go 8.66-seconds down the quarter mile at a trap speed that amounted to 160 mph! There’s something about this one that’s really a pleasure to watch all the way from the moment that the driver gets on the trans brak until it rips through the traps at incredible speeds.
